Homemade Garlic Butter Naan Bread

This is a recipe that truley surprised me and in a very good way. I have always heard of naan and how it is absolutely delicious, but didn’t ever think to make it homemade. I am a dinner roll girl, so when I think of making bread, our homemade dinner rolls are usually my go to recipe.

But with out homemade red curry chicken chili, which is our favorite chili or all time, I wanted something different to go with it. Dinner rolls just didn’t seem like the best option this time around. So I figured I would give making naan a try and see what all the hype was about. We are usually all about our homemade dinner rolls, or our homemade crusty bread, but we loving trying out new things!

And man is this naan so incredibly good! It really blew my socks off! And thankfully it turned out too, cause we happened to have friends over for dinner that night and it was a major hit with everyone. The yummy garlic butter sauce that is lathered over the sweet and tender bread is so good. We love garlic here in our household too so every bite of this naan made us so happy!

The naan bread is so easy to make as well! Just wrap in a light kitchen towel, like these towels that we love, to keep them warm and soft and then pull them out when ready to eat. It isn’t as tedious to make as your traditional roll or loaf of bread. You make the dough, let it rise, roll out small chunks of the dough with a rolling pin, and then cook to perfection on a griddle or pan. Then of course load those babies up with the garlic butter. I can’t wait for you all to try this recipe!

Notes

1. This can easily become a gluten free dairy free bread too! Just use gluten free flour and dairy free yogurt. Dough will be more dense, but tastes delicious! --- 2. Add more flour to dough if needed. It should still be sticky, but not coating your fingers when touched. --- 3. If you don't like parsley on your naan bread, just don't add. It won't compromise the flavor. --- 4. Make sure bread it thoroughly cooked. It should have nice brown spots on each side of the naan.
