Homemade Pico De Gallo

It is almost comical that I am writing out this recipe because it is so easy to make. But because it is so easy, I want everyone to be able to make this whenever the mention of tacos or burritos are in the air! This fresh made pico de gallo is only 3 ingredients and lasts forever in your fridge!

We usually always have a tomato somewhere in the fridge, onions in the pantry, and cilantro on tap as well. Every grocery store run involves coming back with these ingredients almost every time. So if you are like us and love making Mexican food weekly, then this recipe should be a sinch to make.

All you do is dice up the 3 ingredients, and then mix them up together in a bowl, and if possible, let them sit in the fridge for an hour or two before serving to let the flavor blend together. Then you top this on your favorite chicken tacos, or maybe enchiladas like our honey lime chicken enchiladas or our shrimp fajitas which are both to die for! I even love just dipping a chip in it and eating it straight!

Either way, there is no way to mess this recipe up. It is so simple to make, but so tasty and will become a staple to make whenever you make tacos. I promise you, you will never go without pico de gallo ever again once you make this at home for dinner, or take this to your next party!

Homemade Pico De Gallo is only three ingredients, cilantro, tomatoes, and onions. A recipe so easy, no one can mess it up! So fresh and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 bunch cilantro
  • 1 medium white or yellow onion
  • 1-2 medium tomatoes

Instructions

1

Chop up the cilantro, onions, and tomatoes into small diced pieces.

2

Mix together in a bowl til blended together, then cover and put in fridge for 1-2 hours to let flavors blend together.

3

Serve with tacos, burritos, etc. Enjoy!

Notes

1. We usually buy Roma tomatoes, but any fresh tomato will do.--- 2. We don't like the seeds in the tomatoes, so we wash them out before chopping. This helps the pico to not be filled with tomato juices. --- 3. The pico will last in your fridge for up to a week. --- 4. You don't need to let the flavors marinade together if you are in a pinch for time. The pico will taste excellent still! --- 5. If you want more ingredients in your pico, jalapeños and lime would be great additions.
