Perfectly Boiled Corn On The Cob

Perfectly boiled corn on the cob with butter, sea salt, and parsley.

It is corn season and we can’t be more excited. Our middle child Decklin loves corn so much and is thrilled when he knows it will be on that nights dinner menu. Honestly, it could be frozen and he would be equally excited! He is our best eater so pleasing his taste buds don’t take much. But when we introduced this perfectly boiled corn on the cob to our dinner table, he couldn’t get enough of it. And neither could the rest of the family!

It is so simple to make as well and uses ingredients you already have on hand. Water, Salt, Sugar, Lemon juice, and butter. You basically throw all of those ingredients into a large pot like this one that we love to use, turn the heat up to high, and let those little corn on the cobbies cook to perfection. Then you pull them out to cool for a minute or two, and then lather on some salted butter and sprinkle on some sea salt. Mmmmmmhhhhhhmmmmm!

So as you can see, it doesn’t take much to make these corn on the cobs taste absolutely fantastic! We don’t even add butter and salt most of the time too! Once it comes out of that sweet and salty boil bath, it has already soaked up all that flavor so it is ready to go! We serve this up with a lot of our dinner dishes because it is the perfect complimentary side. But we particularly love serving the corn with our quick and easy pigs in a blanket, and our perfectly crispy chicken drumsticks.

Regardless if you serve this with a delicious dinner or not, these boiled corn on the cobs are so good and flavorful. We are excited for you to try them out for yourself! Comment below to let us know what you think and go get fooding!

Notes

1. Any type of fresh corn will boil great in this recipe. Usually during the summer, corn should be readily available at most grocery stores. --- 2. We like using salted butter in this recipe, but unsalted will work great too! --- 3. Do not crowd the cobs in the pot, as they need space to move around. 3-4 stalks at a time should be just fine. --- 4. The corn on the cob cooked will last in your fridge for up to 3 days.
