Quick and Easy Korean Beef

One of my families all time favorite meal is this one right here. Quick and Easy Korean Beef. I happened upon this recipe maybe 5 years ago during a moment where I wasn’t sure what to make that evening for dinner. Which, let’s be real, is like 99% of the time here in my household. Needless to say, I found a few different versions of this recipe on Pinterest and decided that it was worth giving a try. After a few times making it, we came up with the perfect Korean beef with a few tweeks.

I mean, who doesn’t like brown sugar meat right? Well we loved it! And ever since it has been in our monthly meal rotation because one it is super easy to make, two it is delish, three because most of them time you will have all of these ingredients on hand, four it takes less then 30 minutes from start to finish to make, and five it is a great meal to share with others! I can’t tell you how many times I have made this meal to give to a family needing a meal that evening. Or making it when people come over to visit.

I have shared this recipe as well so many times I can’t even count. Everyone who tries this loves it. And there really isn’t any reason not to love it. The beef simmers in a brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger mixture and it just soaks up all of that flavor. Then to even kick it up a notch, we serve it over our yummy and easy coconut rice that you will have to try as well, and a side of steamed edamame. Did I mention that is a super easy recipe too?

Quick Korean Beef and Rice is a family favorite that comes together in less than 30 minutes. Got ground beef? This is the recipe you'll want to make for a quick weeknight dinner! Serve over rice and everyone in your family will love every bite!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 TBLS sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp crushed red peppers (depending on how spicy you like it)
  • Rice (cooked)
  • 1 bunch green onions (diced)

Instructions

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and brown beef with garlic in the sesame oil.

Drain most of the fat and add brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger, salt and pepper and red peppers. Simmer for 5-10 minutes to blend the flavors.

Serve over steamed rice and top with green onions.
